The project examines bodily pain and everyday encounters with systems of oppression in Lebanon and beyond. Rather than directly representing these conditions, the works approach them through abstraction, embedding memory, sensation, and affect within material forms. Through processes of construction and erosion, the sculptures employ instability and fragmentation to reflect the social and political pressures inscribed onto the body. The female body emerges not as a figurative representation, but as a material trace articulated through the interaction of gendered objects and industrial materials. Elements such as bras, wire, latex, and nails generate tensions between fragility and resistance, softness and violence. These materials operate beyond symbolism, functioning as active components that negotiate corporeal experience through transformation, instability, and material confrontation.
