The exhibition will feature a selection of new works created specifically for the gallery, displayed alongside historic paintings from the museum’s collection.

Works by artists including Rembrandt, Jan Steen, Pieter Brueghel the Younger, and Adriaen Brouwer will be presented alongside Shrigley’s contemporary drawings and paintings.

The exhibition explores the role of humor in art and examines how artists from different centuries have used comedy and satire to reflect on everyday life and human behavior.
